Crimson ribbons

She dances with crimson ribbons around her wrists
And the worlds weight on her shoulders
The ribbons wrapped all the way down to her elbow eventually
And started to trickle to the floor

She kept dancing even with the world's weight on her shoulders
Not wanting to give up her life
But rather the pain of it
She dances to escape the weight

She pretends the crimson ribbons are where her feathers would grow
And from her arms, emerge her wings
So that she could escape the world's weight
And dance in the sky
For now she stops dancing
And waits with bandages where the ribbons were
